Greetings!
As Center School enters its 23rd year of successfully educating boys and girls with learning differences, the school's mission remains the same: to provide a supportive educational setting for students who have a history of learning difficulties. The first thing that attracted me to Center School was my belief in the importance of that mission. As the mother of a child with a learning disability, I know how important it is for a child to be able to learn in a non-threatening environment where learning differences are discussed openly and individual strengths are identified and celebrated.
But the devotion of the teachers at Center School is what inspired me to seek the position as Center School's new Director. While observing the teachers with their students during the interview process, I could see how compassionate and gifted this group of educators are. They are sensitive to the individual needs of their students. They are experts at using educational programs and techniques that foster each child's maximum academic potential. They are dedicated to making sure that each child who comes to Center School experiences success and improved self-esteem. As educators, they understand that they haven't done their jobs well unless their students feel good about themselves emotionally and confident in their abilities both academically and socially.
As we look forward to the next twenty years, Center School's mission will remain the same. We will continue to provide a supportive educational setting for children who learn differently and for the families of those children. At the same time, changes will be made as we seek to integrate the best of current research and practice into our teaching. I am honored to be the one chosen to lead Center School into its next twenty years. I look forward to working with an outstanding team of educators as we continue to provide the best possible educaion for the children we serve.
Sincerely,
Allison Enslein
Director
